My 18 month old has shown interest in the past few weeks in going on the potty, so we went out and got the potty and pull-ups. We have also read a few books on how to start the potty training process. We even went to the dollar store and bought her a few little toys and goodies so when she does finally does go on the potty we will have the rewards ready.
She loves the idea of pull-ups, they make her feel like a big girl, she even helps pull them up. As she hasn't yet gone on the potty, she does know when she has to go to the bathroom as she stops what she's doing and squats, or takes us to her potty but unfortunately were a little to late and she's already gone in her pull-ups.
Everyday were getting closer to going on the potty, we have decided that were going to put her potty closer to her toys so if she has to go then its not that far to go to use the bathroom. I am proud of how close were getting to finally using the potty.
Today we were at the mall and she was running in front of us and all of a sudden she stops dead in her tracks, she squats and puts her hand between her legs as if catching the pee before it hit the floor (she had a pull-up on) and when she was done going she stood up, wanted a baby wipe, wiped her hands and continued to run.
My baby is not so much a baby anymore, it's exciting but at the same time its a little sad as I miss her being a little one. I am so proud of fast she has learned different things, and can't wait for the day she finally sits on the potty and goes, there is going to be one big celebration that day!!!
