I can remember back to the day we brought Vanessa home, it didn't start out too good, as we were leaving the hospital my husband realized that he had locked the keys in the car ( thank goodness hes a tow truck driver and knows how to unlock cars) and that it was the beginning of July and the weather was nice. After 20 minutes we were on our way home, and that's when I remember starting to feel overwhelmed and wondering if I could possibly do this. After a few weeks went by we got our daughter onto a good retinue and the over whelming feeling went away.
After the first few months time just seemed to fly by, and my daughter was learning so much so fast. Before I knew it she was 3 months, eating baby food, and learning to roll over onto her belly and then back to her back. I felt like I blinked and she was learning to crawl, walk, and talk. She started with the basics "mama" "dada" and "bubba" and at 10 months, she was walking, running, climbing stairs, and talking up a storm.
Everyday she learns something new, which is super exciting. A few months ago she learned "nana" "papa" "jay jay" (her uncle Jason) "uh oh" "no" "bye bye" "hi". These past few weeks she has been saying "thank you" "welcome" "apple" "orange" and some that I wish I knew what they were. LOL. She is on this whole "mine" thing now, everything is hers, even if its not. It can be cute, but its also super frustrating. "NO" is her new favorite word these days, she wants to do everything on her own. My little girl went from being dependent on me to now wanting to be independent and do things on her own.
I am proud of everything that she has accomplished up to today, and can't wait to see what tomorrow holds. You don't believe when people tell you how much a child can accomplish in such a little time until you experience it yourself. It is the most amazing feeling to see your child grow, but at the same time it is a sad feeling cause you think about the little baby they used to be and aren't anymore.
I <3 you Vanessa!
